This might be counter productive, but don't you think all the hate of Twi-barf- is giving it more attention? I know it's negative attention but look at the dudes who made meet the Spartans and disaster movie, all they get is negative feedback and people go see them just to see how bad it is, and in turn giving them more money.
Now I hate twi-vomit- as much as the next guy, in fact, I wish Wesley Snipes was in there to kill them. But then again I believe he would look at me and say "I don't see an Vampires here."
I'm still trying to figure out how being a vampire gives you Superman level strength, Flash level agility, and some how turns you into a chick magnet even if they don't know what you are.
I'm not a fan of vampires, but the Twilight books were preteen angst driven love story mush. The movie was just an over the top version of the book.
If I want vampires, I will read Bram Stoker's Dracula, or the first few Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles. I will watch Dracula, Interview with a Vampire, Nosferatu, and The Lost Boys just for fun.
Kinda like asking why super heros have super powers, really. They just do. heheh
Part of these bite based tales like vampires and werewolves were sparked from instances of people being infected with rabies in the ollllllden days. Stories write themselves in time.
